Viral trafficking

Untitled (3).png

Intracellular trafficking plays crucial role in viral entry and replication in host cells. Microtubules are one of the major cytoskeleton bodies that are utilized by viruses for successful transfection. We study the correlation between microtubule organization and successful viral entry and the microtubule regulations that facilitate virus trafficking. We use STORM/PALM imaging method for direct visualization of viral particle trafficking. The approach can be extended to any type of viruses and currently we focus on adeno associated viruses and improving their efficacy as gene therapy vectors
